ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Georgia Lovett
If you had told me years ago that I would one day write a novel, I probably would have smiled… because the idea had already been quietly living with me.
For more than forty years, I was an entrepreneur—building businesses, raising a family, and living a full life that stretched across continents. There was always something to do, somewhere to be, someone who needed me.
And yet, the story never left.
It stayed in the background for decades—patient, persistent—waiting for a time when life might finally slow down enough for me to listen. Not because I was trying to become an author, but because some stories don’t let go. They ask to be told.
So eventually, I sat down—and I wrote.
Today, I live in Costa Rica, where my mornings often begin with coffee on the beach as the sun rises. It’s a slower rhythm now, one that leaves space for reflection—and for storytelling.
They Called Him LongMan grew out of a lifetime of experiences: traveling the world, loving deeply, raising children, making mistakes, and realizing that the past has a way of weaving itself into the present.
If you’ve ever carried something with you for years…
or felt like a story was waiting for the right moment to be told…
then you already understand why this one had to be written.
SYNOPSIS
They Called Him LongMan
How long can the truth remain hidden before it demands to be known?
For a defining chapter of his life, Robert Pierson was known simply as LongMan—a missionary who worked among the tribes in the remote highlands of Papua New Guinea and carried the quiet respect of everyone who knew him. In the decades that followed, he became, to his family, a steady husband, a devoted father, and a man of unwavering faith.
But every life holds shadows.
When a stroke in his sixties forces Robert to slow down for the first time in his life, memories begin to surface—memories of a time long buried in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, where one passionate decision set in motion consequences that would echo across generations.
Spanning continents and decades, They Called Him LongMan is a
powerful story of love, forgiveness, and the complicated ways
our choices shape the lives of those who come after us.
As the past begins to surface, the lives of Robert’s children and grandchildren begin to shift in ways none of them could have predicted—from the mountains of Nepal to the deserts of Nevada, from small-town America to the beaches of Costa Rica. Love deepens, loyalties are tested, and long-buried secrets begin to reshape everything they thought they knew about their family.
At the heart of it all is a question no family can escape:
How long can the truth remain hidden before it demands to be known?
